Research activity: Mainly focused on physics education + soft matter studied with optical techniques. Habilitated as full professor. Physics Education and Communication: 2004-now Co-founder and leader of the project “the show of physics” (http://spettacolo.fisica.unimi.it), one of the major activities of the Department of Physics addressed to the general public, but also teachers and students from elementary to high schools. February 2013 - July 2016 Partner, WP leader, and Project Management Board member of the EU FP7 Project TEMI (Teaching Enquiry with Mysteries Incorporated. This teacher training project aimed to help transform science and mathematics teaching practice across Europe by giving teachers new skills to engage with their students, exciting new resources, and the extended support needed to effectively introduce inquiry-based learning into their classrooms. 2011 - Co-author of a Course of scientific communication addressed to Ph.D. Physics students. Responsible for the Scientific Theatre Lab addressed to high school students in the project PLS (Scientific Laurea Degrees Program of the Italian Ministry of university and research). 2022 - Co-author of a MOOC on Physics with CISIA and Federica Web Learning. Complex systems: Partner of the international research team of the NEUF-DIX project of the European Space Agency for the study in the microgravity of non-equilibrium fluctuations occurring during thermodiffusion in multi-component mixtures under non-ideal conditions of interest for practical applications. These non-ideal conditions include large amplitude fluctuations induced by large gradients, transient diffusion processes, and the investigation of the role of non-equilibrium fluctuations in the interaction between macromolecules. The applicative part of the project will be carried on in the framework of the ESA CORA MAP project TechNES in collaboration with an industrial partner. ESFRI - European Scientific Forum of Research Infrastructures Since December 2013, provide scientific and technical support to the activity of ESFRI (European Strategic Forum of Research Infrastructure). 2014- July 2016 scientific assistant to the Chair of the Physical Science and Engineering strategic workgroup.
