About Marina Cuselli

I’m a researcher and science communicator passionate about building bridges between ecological restoration, climate resilience, and public engagement. With a multidisciplinary background in environmental engineering, marine sciences, and geography, I specialize in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for coastal risk mitigation, particularly in climate change and community resilience. Currently completing my PhD in Geography at Memorial University of Newfoundland, my research explores how coastal vegetation and ecosystem-based approaches can be implemented to address coastal erosion. I bring experience in: Coastal and wetland restoration Community-engaged research and stakeholder outreach Environmental communication (including a published children’s book on NbS) Policy-relevant science and public presentations (3MT, conferences) GIS and data analysis (ArcGIS, RStudio) I have collaborated internationally on projects in Canada, Barbados, and the Maldives and I enjoy interdisciplinary, cross-cultural settings. Whether through fieldwork, education, or advocacy, I’m motivated to support sustainable, inclusive environmental action through policy and practice. Looking to connect with people and organizations working at the intersection of climate, biodiversity, and sustainable development, especially around NbS, restoration, and environmental governance.
