About Marinus Burden

As a Detailed oriented passionate leader, I bring value to an organization by identifying areas of opportunity. I started my journey in the Hospitality industry as a part time server in high school in South Africa. It was during this time that I realized that I have a passion for the service industry. I progressed to management level using my attention to detail and experience as a customer service ambassador, as a basis for growth. It was during my time as manager in an extremely competitive wedding industry that I realized a gap in the market for well-trained service staff. This realization along with my entrepreneurial skills lead me to establish my company ‘M Events and staffing’. Identifying the market need for a mobile bar service and an events coordination department lead me to growing the company to a full-service events company. Soon I was approached by Sir Richard Brandson’s Virgin Limited Edition to join their team as Banquet/Events manager at Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard near Cape Town South Africa. In 2017 I relocated to Canada where I excepted a position at Hockley Valley resort as Banqueting manger. Wanting to gain experience in the local hospitality industry I found that HVR was a good fit for me as it entailed all aspects of the hospitality industry being a resort Hotel. After gaining the necessary experience, I chose to move to Toronto and focus on my specialized field of events leading me to the roll of General Manger ZB Hospitality.
