TTS/ Tree Top Services started in the winter of 2007. Being a forestry technician and a fish and wildlife technician, I decided to expand my knowledge and explored the Arboricultural field. From educational training, climbing trees safely, rigging big wood, understanding tree biology and the location they grow in, I decided it was time to help others and earn a living doing it. Trees that grow in an urban setting do not grow or react like trees in the forest. They need to be looked after and maintained to avoid, unfortunate future removals. From basic pruning to high angle removals, chipping and stump grinding are all services that we provide. We also offer Forestry services for entire woodlots. Helping people make the right decisions when managing their woodlots is a priority to us. Based around good forestry practices, we can help you; write a Forestry Management Plan (FMP), select the right Management System, prepare a Harvest Plan, tree mark your woodlot and organize the harvest. Our recommendations will often include; tree planting, creating or maintaining wind breaks and/or shelterbelts, preserve wildlife habitats and improve biodiversity. It may sound complicated, but our job as professionals assures the landowners, the neighbors, the general public, our wildlife and future generations, that a healthy growing forest is being preserved. FMP also offer preferred property tax rates on rural land. A provincial program called the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP), offers a reduction in property taxes for owners committed to becoming good stewards of their land.
