About Mario de Lemos

Oncology drug therapy is rapidly evolving, with new treatments approved nearly every month. As a clinical pharmacist, I have extensive experience in evaluating oncology drugs for provincial funding programs. I was an inaugural member of the pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review Expert Review Committee, now part of Canada’s Drug Agency, contributing to national drug funding recommendations. Over the course of my career, I have authored more than 50 publications covering a wide range of oncology-related topics. My work has been recognized with awards in five different categories by the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, reflecting both the breadth and impact of my contributions. My professional interests focus on health services research and the application of critical thinking to drug therapy decision-making. I am particularly interested in improving how we assess, implement, and monitor oncology treatments to ensure they deliver meaningful outcomes for patients.
