Marion brings over 30 years experience in health care. She has worked in executive and research roles in both the public and private sector, informed health care planning, research and policy through strategic partnership, professional development and effective governance to inform strategy. She is the Inaugural Director, Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre a partnership with the University of South Australia & the Rosemary Bryant Foundation. The RBRC fosters translational research to improve health care through quality improvement inititives and policy reform. Marion is also the inaugural Professor of Cancer Nursing at the University of South Australia. In this role she is progressing research in the area of cancer Survivorship focusing on reporting quality of life and consumer engagement. In 2015 whilst GM Support, Research and Policy at Cancer Council SA was awarded a Churchill Fellowship, for her dedication and passion towards survivorship research at a population level. Marion has completed a Masters of Public Health, 2015, and is the Chair of the Joanna Briggs Institute Cancer Node. Previous post and undergraduate study: Doctorate of Nursing, Masters of Nursing Science, Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Nursing, Cardiac Care Certificate, Hyperbaric Certificate and awarded the Diploma of Applied Science. Also completed training in the areas of clinical practice improvement programs, diploma in training and assessment (TAA) and Certificate IV (TAE) and Executive Leadership Program through Uni of Melbourne. The inaugural Statewide Cardiac Network nursing leader representative, established a statewide model for cardiac education and was the Nursing Lead (CSC) of the Cardiovascular Interventional Unit (A6), Royal Adelaide for over 10 years. Previously elected member of the NMBSA (2005-2011) and more recently (2018) a finalist in the SA Health Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Award.
