Marios' professional background originates from a nine years career as an external auditor in one of the big four auditing firms. During this period, Marios rapidly progressed as an audit manager specialized in the shipping industry and participated, supervised or managed numerous projects, varying between statutory reports under both IFRS and US gaap, IPOs and follow on public offerings, SOX reports and due diligence projects. At the same period, Marios was awarded the professional certification of Certified Public Accountant. Having developed advanced soft skills and solid technical competencies, especially in respect with the unique and distinguished challenges of the shipping market, Marios decided to move on and have an industry insight, by assuming senior positions in the finance / accounting departments of shipping companies. Accordingly, thereafter he has served in several shipping firms in various executive roles.
