About Marisa K. Mickel

I am a psychoanalyst, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and certified meditation teacher. As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I work eclectically, which means I draw from the perspective and modality that best serves each client and moment. As a meditation teacher, while I do offer group and individual introductory courses, I specialize in work with existing meditators who are experiencing friction in their practice. Often these populations overlap, with psychotherapy + psychoanalysis clients integrating personalized meditation tools to best support their constitution and goals. I am also director (and an instructor) of the Clinical Journeys program at NYC's Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center. Clinical Journeys is a one-year certificate program for mental health professionals who are in the field and would like to know more about working psychoanalytically. We offer our curriculum in-person in New York City (when possible) and remotely by Zoom.
