About Marisa Martins

Project Manager with almost two decades of experience working in software development, in a journey that started as a software developer, in a small multidisciplinary team, adopting waterfall as the methodology and aiming to create services and solutions for different platforms and various technologies. With the team growing and new challenges emerging, it was time to add new responsibilities to the existing baseline of tasks which consisted of analyzing requirements, developing the code, and doing the required integrations on the client systems. Discussing requirements with the client, designing and proposing solutions, coding while leading the team during implementation and deployment, and doing the final acceptance tests with the client were the new assignments added to the day-to-day work activities. Being a personal passion and also after assessing how processes and procedures impact people's lives, enhance quality in the produced work, and boost confidence among clients, the ambition was to pursue a leadership focused on the team which translated into enrollment in a post-graduation course about Agile methodologies for software developments. From waterfall to Agile, for platforms such as mobile or television, using Java or.Net, initially as a developer and later as a manager, it is the combination of not fearing work under pressure and being interested in making software as an engineering process, associated with a strong sense of responsibility, organization, team player capability and ambition that summarize my work and personal experiences.
