About Marisa Thompson

For me, it's all about family. I learned the business from my mother, a residential real estate veteran of over 30 years. I owe a lot to her. I find joy in helping families at all stages find the right place for them, whether that's a young family just starting out, or clients on the other end, looking to downsize to lighten their load so they can enjoy life a little more. After working with them on something so important, my clients start to feel like family too. I’m a people person and love connecting. I have a deep desire to understand what's important to each person I work with. I’ve honestly never had a client with whom I wasn't able to work successfully. I find myself drawn to solving puzzles and knotty problems. That often comes out when I’m helping a client strategize to get the most out of their budget, or when we are at the negotiating table working to find common ground to close a successful deal. One of the few agents that specializes in the Santa Cruz/Los Gatos mountains, I love the uniqueness of each property in our region and have a special affinity for horse properties. I am very familiar with the San Lorenzo Valley, having helped many families find their homes in Felton, Boulder Creek and Bear Creek. My other home base is on the coast in the greater Santa Cruz area, from Davenport to La Selva Beach. I was drawn to Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty because of the unique combination of a company with a small boutique family feel with the luxury brand recognition and marketing power of a worldwide powerhouse. I love music and perform regularly as one of the Summit Sisters, a group of fun-loving, talented musicians in the Los Gatos Mountains where I live with my husband and daughter.
