About Marissa Hackett

Working in the contracts area makes me feel fulfilled knowing that I have assisted in my company’s growth and left all my clients and vendors satisfied. Having worked many years in the paralegal field and within the Operations Department of organizations, I have developed a strong passion for researching law statutes and helping others who struggle with legal disputes and provide resources on how to solve them. After being recently employed as a Contracts Specialist, my goal is to stay in this challenging, yet very rewarding career because it is part of a growing, in demand field where I can work in an industry that brings me joy by helping others. I am new to the Portland area, and I received my higher education from my home state of Ohio. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communication Studies from Kent State University, where I learned graphic design, business research, public speaking, marketing, and journalism. In 2017, I earned my Post-Degree Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Cuyahoga Community College. At Tri-C, I received coursework in legal writing/research, civil procedures, torts/evidence, constitutional, contract and criminal law.
