Background
About Marissa Johnson
From a young age I was always passionate about education and learning. As a child school was one of my favorite places to go and after high school I knew university was exactly where I was meant to be. In 2020, I obtained my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in education from Wilfrid Laurier University. I then went on to complete my autism & behavior sciences certificate at Fanshawe College. These degrees led me to work as an educational assistant for the WRDSB for 3 years, which is what sparked my interest and journey to becoming a teacher. In December 2024 I received my Masters of Teaching education degree from Niagara University, which certifies me to teach grades K-6. Since receiving my teaching degree I have been a daily occasional teacher for the Waterloo Catholic board and was fortunate enough to have an LTO for a month teaching grades 5. I am excited to see what the future holds. On my free time I enjoy cooking, trying new restaurants, going to the gym, reading and travelling.
