About Marissa Lyons

With over seven years of experience in education, I am passionate about creating and implementing effective and engaging high quality lessons and unit plans that foster student success and well-being. As an educator at Austin Independent School District, I am committed to the district's mission of creating a culture of excellence and equity for all students. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked with students from different backgrounds, needs, and interests, and have mentored first-year teachers through classroom observations and lesson support. In my current role, I also serve as an SEL CP & I Facilitator, where I brainstorm and develop campus-wide SEL practices that support the social and emotional learning of students and staff. I have been recognized as the 2022-2023 Campus Teacher of the Year for my outstanding performance and dedication. I utilize my communication and mentoring skills to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and to present effectively to various audiences. I am always eager to learn new skills and strategies to enhance my teaching and leadership abilities.
