About Marissa Simon
My current role as a power engineer has given me an insight into the daily operation of both power plants and all auxiliaries. With the increasing demand of this field, there are many challenges ahead. My goal is to make myself knowledgeable in all areas of my position by learning from those who have gained experience over the years to better help in this process. My interest and experience in the power industry is largely Cogeneration, with a particular interest in Gas/Steam turbine generators with a strong interest in major inspections. The development of isolations with regard to scope and proper order of maintenance activities I find challenging and rewarding. Which is why I recently decided to switch roles and am now focused on the planning and commissioning of a new 800MW cogeneration facility at my plant. This involves creating procedures, check sheets, safety reviews and reviewing of all documents in preparation for commissioning. I hold a Second Class Power Engineering ticket.
