BIOGRAPHY - MARITZA E. RIVERAMaritza has more than fifteen years of experience in the travel and hospitality industries. Her strong relationships in the leisure and corporate travel industries have garnered measurable results for MER Travel Solutions clients. Her extensive destination marketing, event planning and sales experience ranges from managing mid-scale events for COPA Airlines to large-scale event execution, supporting pre/post conference operations and launching silent auction fundraising efforts for ALTA, the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association. Maritza was responsible for successfully developing the MICE industry segment and supporting the leisure travel business for Proexport Colombia, the government trade & tourism bureau of Colombia.In addition, Maritza has overseen sales efforts for Latin American Travel Club, a major tour operator specializing in tailor made packages for Mexico, South and Central America, and supervised national accounts for LAN Airlines. While at LAN, Maritza was instrumental in securing contracts and creating promotional partnerships and marketing programs particularly with the tour operator and travel agent communities throughout the United States.
