About Mark Alderson

After brief spells as a chef and window fitter I got into scaffolding late 1989 with my younger brother Steve who had gone down the Bircham Newton route straight after school. He sadly died in a motorbike accident in Perth Australia in 2011 where he lived and worked as a scaffolder after getting married over there. I spent many years working for various firms following the money around the UK and Holland where I gained a wealth of experience working with some great characters too many to mention but some have remained good mates. In 2007 I started up a scaffolding business called ASAP along with 2 work colleagues Keith Alexander and Mark Pearce which steadily grew until 2012 when we started using the new Advanced Guardrail Easyfit System partly invented by Keith Alexander which worked really well on newbuild housing sites. Our business got too big too quickly becoming almost unmanageable but in 2013 we were bought out by Safer Access Structures and after a much needed improvement of our management systems ran successfully for 7 years. I became operations director in 2018 and in june 2020 we were bought out again by Phaze Scaffolding with Mark Jeavens leading the way as MD. I will do my best to help Mark Jeavens achieve his goals of building the business to where he wants it to be and delivering on quality, safety and reliability.
