I have over two decades of experience building large energy infrastructure, driving strategic planning, operational excellence, and financial management within the power sector across Sub-Saharan Africa. I have enormous expertise in streamlining operations, implementing Lean principles, and driving cross-functional collaboration to enhance service execution, reduce costs, and maximize profitability. Apart from that, I possess extensive experience managing large-scale power projects, negotiating high-value contracts, and leading energy infrastructure development initiatives across Africa. Some of my key success highlights include the following: Led General Electric’s (GE) operations and business growth across Southern, Eastern, Central Africa and Nigeria, driving profitability and market expansion in challenging regulatory and economic environments. Collaborated with Angola Government Agencies and private developers to add 1GW of power to the national grid, improving energy security and industrial capacity. Led the first-ever flange-to-flange replacement of a GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine at the Nigeria LNG facility, with a 90% local workforce execution, setting a precedent for technical capacity building in Africa. Supervised Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities, including planned inspections and unplanned failures, without expatriate intervention – a first in the region, reducing operational costs and strengthening local expertise. Managed a $100M Long-Term Service Agreement, ensuring contract profitability through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency. Collaborated with a global team to develop and launch GE’s e-commerce platform, enhancing digital accessibility and streamlining customer transactions. I have worked in different countries in Africa and beyond, taking up roles in commercial and service operations to the executive levels and managing complex projects in Angola and Nigeria.
