I’m a qualified and experienced Youth Worker, Advocate, and Trainer with over 30 years of working alongside children, young people, and communities in a wide range of settings—including social care, youth justice, education, and participation.A former Children’s Rights Service Manager, I’ve built a career around ensuring that cared for and care-experienced young people are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect their lives. My background spans frontline practice, service design, management, training, and event delivery—always with a focus on youth voice, rights, and engagement.I’m passionate about: • Advocacy: Supporting young people in statutory reviews, child protection conferences, complaints processes, and secure care. • Participation and Voice: Creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people shape policy, services, and recruitment. • Training and Supervision: Developing youth workers and professionals to confidently support youth voice and rights. • Assessment and Quality: Qualified to assess youth work competence in the workplace.I’ve worked in local authorities, voluntary organisations, and on national and international projects, including EU youth dialogue and election youth hustings. I’m also a published trainer and materials developer with a strong interest in the rights of asylum-seeking and migrant children.Available for online work all year round and face to face work September to December and April to June.
