About Mark Barley

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist and the Airway Lead at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the largest hospital Trusts in the UK and a busy major trauma centre. My clinical interests are difficult airway management, total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA TCI) and “depth of anaesthesia” monitoring (pEEG). Teaching and research interests in pEEG - I’m honoured to have opportunities to lecture nationalIy and internationally on these topics. I routinely provide anaesthesia for major head and neck surgery, major upper GI surgery, major trauma and emergency cases utilising advanced monitoring modalities - EEG, nociception and quantitative neuromuscular monitoring. Anaesthetic services are provided at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital, BMI The Park, Nottingham Woodthorpe and The Spire Hospital.
