About Mark Barnard

An experienced multi-discipline co-ordinator and lead consultant with twelve years experience across a range of environmental practice, including: Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), environmental and permitting due diligence, owners engineer (environmental management), H&S performance monitoring, lenders engineer (due diligence, construction and operational compliance monitoring), auditing and environmental permitting. Familiar with a variety of large scale infrastructure sectors pre and post consent and / or financing with particular expertise in the power sector and in on and offshore wind, hydro power and transmission infrastructure. ESIA and due diligence experience includes for projects subject to international financing standards as set out under the Equator Principles and associated IFC Performance Standards. Mark has over four years continuous experience of environmental assessment and monitoring of large scale international hydropower projects and substantial recent experience in offshore wind and cabling environmental and permitting due diligence and monitoring with involvement in over 20 offshore wind or related transactions across Europe.
