About Mark Bennett

A proven track record of over 27 years in wellbeing, safety, and security management. Currently serving as the National Safety Manager with AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism, I am responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the organisation, developing, leading, facilitating, and implementing the organisation's Work Health and Safety Management System and Business Continuity and Emergency Management Plans. Over my extensive career journey, I've worn many hats across diverse roles, each contributing uniquely to the honing of my skills. From my years leading and mentoring a safety and security team within a large global retail business to serving as a Qld police officer and donning the uniform as an Australian Soldier, each experience has enriched my skill set.I have honed my abilities to establish, nurture, and sustain exceptionally productive and cooperative relationships with internal key stakeholders, encompassing employees, management, human resources, committees, and safety officers. These interactions have played a pivotal role in shaping and promoting a 'safety-first' culture within the organisations. My extensive experience also includes a successful track record of collaborating with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including Emergency Services, industry regulators; Work Cover Qld and Work Safe Qld, NDIS, local councils, and industry associations. This experience has been instrumental in not only ensuring that I stay up to date with industry best practices but also in establishing strategic partnerships that drive the efficient and effective delivery of safety, health, wellbeing, claims management, employee assistance services, and rehabilitation strategies and programs.
