Mark is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) with over 12 years combined professional client service experience in FP & A, management consulting, assurance, accounting and tax serving both public and private sector clients. Mark has expertise within finance and performance management with focus on: financial planning & analysis, corporate strategy and business transformation, process improvement, organization and talent, planning, budgeting and forecasting, ERP implementation, financial reporting, technical accounting. Mark holds a BA in International Relations from the University of British Columbia and a Master's degree in Professional Accounting (MPAcc) from the University of Saskatchewan. His undergraduate focus was on East Asian political economy and Korean language, and his graduate focus was on accounting, audit, finance, management accounting, performance measurement and strategy. Prior to joining Ventum Financial, Mark was Director, Product & Corporate FP & A at Wealthsimple. Mark was also previously Director, FP & A at Aviso Wealth, Director of Finance at Progressa, Corporate Controller at Solar Flow-Through Funds, a Senior Consultant in the Strategy and Operations practice of Deloitte Consulting and a Senior Accountant in KPMG’s Enterprise audit practice. Mark has extensive leadership and management experience. He is an effective communicator; confident public speaker; an experienced teacher and coach; has traveled, studied, volunteered and lived internationally; and speaks Korean at a functional level.
