I am an experienced university lecturer and research leader with an applied approach to politics and public policy. As a trainer and consultant in the field of policy engagement, British politics and parliamentary studies I bring this applied approach to my work. I am experienced academic researcher researching and publishing on comparative political leadership, prime ministerial power, governance, and accountability in parliament. I am the author of Prime Ministers in Power: Political Leadership in Britain and Australia (2012, Palgrave) and (with Ben Worthy and Paul ‘t Hart) The Leadership Capital Index: New Perspectives on Political Leadership (2017, Oxford University Press). I established the Lincoln Policy Hub and the Lincoln Parliamentary Research Centre. I have experience as an Academic Fellow in the House of Commons, researching the Commons Liaison Committee.
