I spent the first 15 years of my Actuarial career working as a traditional life insurance actuary where I became accountable for the terms and conditions under which Zürich life wrote new business. I became interested in developing an understanding of the customer, their circumstances and how the customer utilised the products that I was involved in manufacturing. In fact I became so passionate about the customer that I decided to move to the other side of the fence and be an advocate for the customer rather than the manufacturer and so 20 years ago I became a financial planner working directly for the customer. I am also a registered tax agent and mortgage adviser.
