Background
About Mark Blecher
Mark Blecher is a strategic, results-oriented business leader with over 30 years experience driving profitable growth in consumer packaged goods, toys/games and digital gaming. He spent fourteen years in brand marketing holding increasingly senior positions at well known consumer companies, including Clorox, PepsiCo and Electronic Arts. For the last twenty years, Mark worked for Hasbro, beginning as Chief Marketing Officer for the $700M games business. He subsequently accepted the challenge to build Hasbro's Digital Games Business, primarily through an aggressive licensing model. During his digital game tenure, Mark quadrupled the size of this business and increased profit six-fold. In his last five years at Hasbro, Mark led the Corporate Development and Strategy function, setting product strategy and negotiating partnership deals worth hundreds of millions of dollars. While leading Hasbro's M&A efforts, Mark established the company's acquisition strategy and evaluated dozens of opportunities in the toy, digital games and entertainment space. Mark led Hasbro's acquisition of film & television company Entertainment One (which included the evergreen Peppa Pig brand) Prior this Mark also led the acquisitions of Backflip Studios, Tuque Games, D&D Beyond and the Power Rangers brand. In addition to his large company experience, Mark has also worked in smaller, more entrepreneurial environments. He served as VP Marketing for Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, a West Coast based, multi-unit microbrewery restaurant. In that role, Mark led the company's marketing efforts to double their restaurant footprint and to launch their first ever packaged product at retail. Mark also served as President of Ofoto, Kodak's online digital printing business. Mark has a B.S. in Economics from the The Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Harvard. He currently serves at Board President for Adoptions with Love, Massachusett's largest private adoption agency. He has also served as a Board Member and Treasurer of Temple Shalom in Newton.
