About Mark Blundell

I am both a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Scientist who is independently accredited by the British Nuclear Institute and I am also a Fellow of the British Geological Society. I have experience working on and managing a variety of projects across the Nuclear industry, the Oil and Gas sector, and the broader energy industry. My professional interests are deeply rooted in natural hazards, engineering safety case work, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of risk engineering, probabilistic, managerial and operational practices throughout the energy sector. These areas not only align with my expertise but also reflect my passion and commitment to ensuring safety and efficiency within the industry. Academically, I have a BSc 1st Class (Hons) in Geology and an MSc in Nuclear Science (Distinction), both from the University of Manchester. I recieved academic prizes for being ranked 1 in the UK cohorts of Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield Universities from the British Nuclear Technological Educational Consortium for my academic attainment in the Nuclear Sciences. I also have a PGCert in Historical Studies from the University of Oxford. Alongside my profession in engineering, I am presently a part-time postgraduate at the University of Cambridge where I conduct research in the History and Philosophy of ideas and ethical thought.
