About Mark Bortolus

I am currently a Process Chemist working at Atomvie Global Radiopharma. In this capacity I am responsible for applying my technical expertise and experience in radiochemistry and process chemistry to support current products and future drug development within AtomVie’s portfolio of CDMO functions. Prior to this role, I was an NSERC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto where I work with Prof. Neil Vasdev, Director and Chief Radiochemist, at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. In this capacity I applied my expertise in synthetic inorganic fluorine chemistry to the development of new 18F radiofluorination methodologies for the syntheses of radiotracers that are useful for in vivo imaging of the human brain by means of Positron Emission Tomography. I was also trained as a synthetic inorganic fluorine chemist during my Ph.D research under the supervision of Prof. Gary J. Schrobilgen.
