About Mark Borzenkov

I am a mechanical design engineer (5 years) with broad knowledge of manufacturing technologies and embedded development. It let me specialize in the development and prototyping of robotic systems. My major is mechanical design - SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Inventor. I have experience with various production technologies such as sheet materials, laser-cutting, milling, lathe, and silicone mold casting and huge experience in 3d printing - FDM and SLA. I also have practical knowledge of hardware and have completed a project involving computer vision, PID regulators, and embedded code. I am comfortable collaborating with multiple teammates and interdepartmental stakeholders toward meeting tight deadlines, and I am skilled at breaking down complex issues into manageable tasks because I have experience in guiding people. This fact let me organize my independent work clearly and better. With a degree in "Design, Production, and Operation of Rockets and Aerospace Complexes" from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, I have received a strong foundation in engineering design, material science, and the mechanics of solids. My graduation project was a continuation of the BMSTU’s development of new scheme for de-orbiting large-size space debris (like out-of-work satellites) from low Earth orbit and represents its design project. The introduction of this system at the 70th International Astronautical Congress was a result of this work. Before graduation, I started to work in the underwater robotics engineering area and completed a few projects. It introduced me to the subsea environment specifics, design tolerances, and real implementation of the design. After that, I decided to move close to automatization and robotics. As a part of this translation, I started to learn embedded development, computer science, and algorithms on my own.
