Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Interac Corp, I specialize in IT procurement, artificial intelligence (AI), digital identity, and cybersecurity, guiding my organization through complex legal landscapes while supporting transformative technology initiatives. My background as a software engineer and project manager equips me with a practical understanding of technology, allowing me to provide strategic legal counsel that aligns with operational goals. I am committed to mentoring the next generation of legal professionals and advancing the discourse on technology law. My contributions to the field include serving as a panelist on CAN-TECH, leading legal practice groups, and developing AI tools that automate legal processes through my venture, Meese AI Inc- Mark is a corporate lawyer at Interac Corp and is the founder of the artificial intelligence technology company Meese AI. Mark is also an experienced Software Engineer and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario, and was certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). At Interac Corp, Mark has a broad corporate/commercial practice with an emphasis on technology. He is an experienced information technology lawyer, specifically with outsourcing, procurement, licensing, privacy, AI and e-commerce transactions and with consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property-related legal matters. At Meese AI, Mark builds artificial intelligent software tools to help lawyers and other members of the legal community. These tools augment and automate legal tasks, reducing the costs of these tasks while increasing the quality of the task’s output.
