About Mark Brock

Beginning my career at RE Stone and Others syndicate I now have extensive experience in the London insurance marketplace acting as professional indemnity manager in all the underwriting entities I have worked with. Other than a short spell at a Lloyd’s broker I have exclusively operated as a PI underwriter with some exposure to D&O. My career has been fortunate enough to have experienced underwriting strategies and portfolios that have differed widely and at each of the insurers I have learned valuable additional skills. My 8 years spent with some of the largest insurance companies in the world has shown me the benefits of structure, reporting, analytics and high levels of transparent and honest conversation that were all essential in managing successful portfolios. Working with 4 different syndicates has allowed me the opportunity to enjoy the “Lloyd’s of London way of undertaking business” which requires innovation, flexibility and agility of thinking as well as service levels that need to be high to maintain an edge in a true commercial market. Lloyd’s is a state of the art institution for broad thinkers and solution providers which hones an individual’s skills to listen, understand, negotiate and close deals. My career has allowed me to view and digest the varying philosophies from clients and employees and I believe I have been able to take the best practices of these along with me and implement them in my working day to the benefit of the teams that have and do work alongside me and of course my clients.
