I've been involved in the world of specialist coatings all my working life. I initially joined Andrews coatings as a junior sales man and travelled the Midlands cold calling and prospecting existing and potential new customers. I quickly learnt that there is far more to the world of specialist coatings than one might realise. It's also relatively easy to learn 70% of how coating specifications need to be put together but takes years of experience to fine tune the details to make sure that the preparation, the products themselves and the application of those materials produces a successful result. I was appointed by John Andrews my predecessor to Technical Director in the early 1990s and became Managing Director and owner of Andrews Coatings Ltd in 2001. We relocated from our original West Bromwich premises to Wolverhampton and are now located in the state-of-the-art Carver Building Supplies building in Littles Lane, Wolverhampton. We are authorised agents and distributors for all the specialist coating companies supplying the UK markets. We are approved HMCS ( Her Majesty’s Court Service) contractors for prison cell and custody suite refurbishment and I also regularly advise Trinity House on all technical aspects of coating the lighthouses on the UK coastline. We have a flooring contracting division and a Graffiti treatment and removal team working in the Midlands and the London regions.
