Mark Earl Burman is an American director, producer, and philanthropist. Mark is the founder and CEO of independent motion production and financing company, ADME Studios. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mark has produced over 33 films throughout his 25-year career as a producer, writer and director. Mark practically grew up around film and television sets and developed a passion for the craft from an early age. He began his career as an assistant to Norman Lear, the producer of 'All in the Family,' and,'The Jeffersons.' He also worked as an assistant on the television show,'Cheers,' where he learned the fundamentals of the craft working directly under Andy Ackerman, who later went on to direct, ‘Seinfeld’. Most recently, Mark produced the critically acclaimed film,'Dog Eat Dog,' starring Nicolas Cage and Willem Dafoe, directed by Paul Schrader. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the prestigious, Director's Fortnight and has been lauded as Schrader’s comeback film. It also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival among others. Shortly after, he directed the acclaimed documentary,'South Bureau Homicide,' that premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival. The documentary focuses on the relationship between South LA residents and LAPD's Criminal Gang Homicide Division. It has since screened at over twenty-two film festivals worldwide. Mark is currently developing an eight-picture, ‘dramatic-action,’ slate, seeking to redefine the genre with a creative vision in the style of ‘Papillon,’ and, ‘The French Connection. Mark recently announced his latest project ‘The Devil Soldier,’ based on the bestselling novel by Caleb Carr, which Antoine Fuqua will direct.
