About Mark Busuttil

Having studied the effectiveness of professional training and education for teaching and allied health care professionals, Mark started to read for a Masters in Human Resource Management and Training in order to improve upon his knowledge on applying techniques and concepts within the world of corporate. Through such, he came to understand what key aspects participants of training schemes look out for and deem effective. He had undergone training on how to be an effective trainer and has had 7 years experience in working as a lecturer with St. Martin's College Malta. Through these years, Mark came to understand the fundamentals of what makes an effective and supportive trainer. To better hone these skills, he joined and co coordinated the Erasmus+ programme that focused on Science teacher's soft and technical skills. This project exposed him to various cultures of practice, approaches towards teaching and honed his soft skill subset to make him a better teacher/trainer. Of present, his interest for training and passion for professional development has led him to start working within OPM under the People Support and Wellbeing Directorate which is composed of a dynamic team of professionals that share the same passion for professional development. His main focus is that of promoting soft skill sets that the current Maltese Labour market needs to increase organisational operations, employee empowerment and above all employee engagement.
