About Mark Carter

I am a born and raised Yukoner now living in the heart of Toronto! I am currently a member of RBC’s Environmental & Social Risk Management team, working to integrate and expand our E&S risk management capabilities. I joined RBC through the Leadership Development Program, which provided diverse work experience along with the development of my leadership capabilities. I completed my MBA at Queen's University Smith School of Business, with a finance specialization. Before my MBA, I worked in a strategic advisory role at Kingsdale Advisors, Canada’s top shareholder advisory firm, advising Canadian public companies on their annual shareholder meetings, strategic communications, and crisis scenarios. Prior to that, I worked for the Government of Yukon's Cabinet Office as a Senior Advisor to the Deputy Premier. More about my skills: Project Management: while working for a small consulting firm I had end-to-end supervision of projects, from inception with defining the scope and collecting data to conducting analysis, developing a presentation, and delivering the results Communication: my diverse experience has provided ample opportunities to develop strong communication skills. Whether it is conversing with neighbours on the political topics of the day or presenting my findings to corporate executives, I have continued to refine my approach to communication to be dynamic and succinct Self-motivated: whether it was working in the private sector, public administration, or in academia, I have found success is linked to motivation. I have continued to improve by learning from experiences and professional development, striving to always advance my skill set and be a stronger contributor I am always happy to connect and start a conversation!
