About Mark Charles

Mark Charles is a managing director and the head of Retail Origination in the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) division within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) of Wells Fargo. Mark has more than 26 years of experience in financial services and is currently responsible for the origination and execution of closed-end funds and other permanent capital vehicles. He works closely with corporate clients, syndicate partners, and Wells Fargo’s Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) in the development of new products and the implementation of sales & marketing strategies to provide investment solutions to the retail sales force. Mark joined Wells Fargo and the ECM team in 2005. Prior to his current role, Mark was a senior member of the Retail Marketing team, where he was responsible for the marketing and distribution of all retail related offerings, which included closed-end funds, equity transactions and preferred issues to more than advisors within Wells Fargo’s retail brokerage system. He was recognized by his peers as a Golden Spoke recipient in 2013. Before joining Wells Fargo, Mark worked as the trader at Bourgeon Capital Management, an independent, fee-only, registered investment advisor. Mark also worked at Solomon Smith Barney as a member of its Prime Services division.
