About Mark Charman

Since leaving college in 1987 I have worked consistently and gained many years professional experience in marketing the products and services of companies large and small, many big brand names. I am pro-active and well organised, I enjoy challenging work and continuously seek to develop my own commercial and professional skills. As a result I gain a great deal of satisfaction in seeing a project through to completion and experiencing the positive, successful results that follow. During my time working at Shebbear College in the UK I was given the opportunity to teach BTEC Creative Digital Media to Sixth Form students. I also taught Art to Year 6 pupils in the college's Prep School. Also during my time at Shebbear College I organised and lead their very successful and popular trip to Krakow in Poland for 4th, 5th and 6th Form students on 3 occasions. The 5 day residential trip included excursions to key historical locations such as Auschwitz, Oskar Schindler's Factory, Wieliczka Salt Mines, the Nowa Huta suburb and Wawel Palace and Cathedral. The trip also included tours of the beautiful Old Town and Jewish Quarter, meeting a Holocaust survivor and cultural activities such as a folk evening of Polish food, live music and dancing. The trips were balanced with a healthy amount of fun activities including horse and carriage rides, ice skating and shopping. In October 2021 I relocated to Lublin, Poland where I am now teaching English at Co Ludzie Powiedzą school and private tutoring. With Martin's City Tours I give tours in English of the Renaissance Old Town and Majdanek Concentration Camp in Lublin. I am also delighted to be a student recruitment agent in Poland for Shebbear College in the UK.
