As a Benefits Coordinator with 10+ years of experience administering employee benefits to 3100+ employees, retirees, and their spouses of General Motors, I have managed a full range of benefit programs including life insurance. During my additional nine years working on Medicare claims for both Mount Carmel and Nationwide Insurance, I gained a comprehensive knowledge of both health providers in the Greater Columbus area, as well as the claims processing guidelines. My expertise includes multiple health care and life insurance policies, 401K programs, unemployment compensation, disability and sick leave, FMLA, Medicare/ Medicaid, and Social Security benefits. In addition, I understand the need to maintain close working relationships with employees, managers, HR and payroll representatives, and vendors to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner to the satisfaction of all. Benefit programs are all about customer service, and I take that obligation seriously. Since clear communications are essential to a successful benefits program, I am also accustomed to making presentations to groups with as many as 400 participants to explain benefit changes and their implications. My responsibilities as a Benefits/EAP/ADAPT Representative at General Motors included helping to design, layout, and write the monthly newsletter that went to all employees and retirees.
