About Mark Conroy

I am a PhD, Distinguished Scientist, Technical and Bakken Fellow at Medtronic. I am currently working on developing magnetic resonance conditionally safe neuromodulation devices and therapies such as deep brain stimulation (DBS), spinal cord stimulation (SCS), sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) and implantable drug infusion systems. I have previously held a similar position in Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management and Heart Failure (CRHF). I have extensive experience in all aspects of the medical device development cycle including R&D, product development, design verification testing, risk management, regulatory submission, and product launch and post-launch support. I also do significant internal and external training regarding the use and safety of our MR Conditional products in the MRI environment. In addition to my product development work, I participate in international standards development and am a sub-group leader for ISO/TS 10974, Requirements for the Safety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Patients with an Active Implantable Medical Device. I also regularly present at scientific conferences such as the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Radiological Society of North America, and the European Congress of Radiology.
