About Mark Cooper

Over 25 years of experience within the insurance retail and wholesale markets across the Middle East and UK. Prior to being appointed as Chief Market Development Officer and Head of UK & European Branches for Lloyd's Europe in Brussels in Sept 2019, I was the Lloyd's Representative for Middle East and Turkish markets; fast emerging and strategically important growth regions. This followed what was a hugely engaging and developmental role as Director of Insurance for the Dubai International Financial Centre, overseeing the growth of the DIFC's wholesale sector across the Middle East and wider Subcontinent region. Having worked in the Middle East for 17 years, I have been fortunate to hold CEO/ Director level roles that have enabled me to experience and work successfully through 2 regional acquisitions as well as leading one of the region’s most successful insurance IPO’s in Saudi Arabia. I also led and set up DNA Business Genetics, a C-level Search and Consultancy organisation that was established in partnership with the International Shirlaws Business Coaching Group. With a proven track record of successfully developing and driving public and private regional businesses and Joint Venture partnerships, identifying and building senior multi-cultural teams, execution of business objectives and a focus on bottom line responsibility has been at the vanguard of my approach.
