About Mark Cornwell

After leaving the University of Michigan I set out to help the State of Michigan reduce road salt use. At the time I was unable to secure the type of position I aspired to and instead worked to expand my knowledge and experience through the sale of liquid deicing chemicals in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. I worked with countless agencies in both the public and private sector advancing winter maintenance best practices. In 2007 I left the chemical industry to work on the equipment side selling a leading European salt spreader. This experience provided the opportunity to expand my knowledge on salt spreading technologies by working with agencies from New Hampshire to Minnesota and Canada. In 2012 I was appointed to both the Transportation Research Board and American Public Works Association Winter Maintenance Committees. It is an honor to be amongst such a distinguished group of winter maintenance professionals. Elected Holly Township Trustee-November 2012 I have served on many other local groups advancing sustainability of natural resource assets.
