About Mark Crestohl

As a seasoned in-house employment and labour lawyer and human resources executive, I am a subject matter expert who provides pragmatic and actionable advice to a wide-range of stakeholders, across the full spectrum of workplace issues. While most of my work is in support of employee relations issues such as discipline and termination, harassment and discrimination, investigations up to and including civil and administrative litigation, I have also worked closely with other human resources functional specialists such as recruiting and onboarding, inclusion and diversity, compensation (including benefits and pension), workplace accommodations, regulatory compliance and workplace policies. I also thrive as a member of cross-functions teams, such as on mergers and acquisitions, data privacy and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. How I Do It- I start by listening to understand the business context within which my clients' questions arise- I leverage my knowledge, experience and analytical skills to help my clients understand the advantages and disadvantages of the options to help them make the best decision, or in some cases, the least bad decision- My clients value my collaborative approach and subject matter knowledge and consistently seek me out as the "go to" expert. My employee relations philosophy is that most disputes can and should be resolved without the necessity of a third party decision-maker, and I am passionate about finding solutions that address the parties' respective interests.
