About Mark David Naslund

I am a final year Masters of Economics student at Duke University with ambitions of pursuing a PhD in Economics. My research interests are primarily in two areas. I am interested in Applied Microeconomics and Behavioral Economics with a particular focus on preference formation and preference instability. My current research focuses on risk preferences and effects resulting from economic stimulus using large-N datasets and continuous difference in differences analysis. I am particularly interested in shocks to risk preferences and models of endogenous risk preference evolution. I am also interested in International Finance and International Macroeconomics topics including asset market segmentation, foreign exchange interventions, and New Keynesian Open Economy models. My current work creates an NKOE model with nominal rigidities, asset intermediation, and a consumption pecuniary externality to examine optimal foreign exchange interventions in economies with explicit managed float regimes, a commitment to both price stability and reduction of exchange rate volatility.
