About Mark Doperalski

Mark is a registered professional archaeologist with nearly 20 years’ experience conducting archaeological survey, evaluation, and mitigation as well as tribal consultation associated with a variety of project undertakings. He has also worked with various federal, state, and local agencies on the review of projects to meet their regulatory requirements. Mark has worked on projects throughout the United States and has dealt with resources ranging from bison kill sites to French contact period trading posts and 19th century mills and settlements. Mark also has experience interpreting and presenting the histories of archaeological sites in the form of interpretive talks and guided tours to groups ranging from the general public to the staff of regulatory agencies and tribal governments. He has worked for several universities, private firms, and a public utility and has conducted in depth historical research, worked in a number of archaeological laboratories, formed good working relationships with tribal groups, and has written numerous technical reports. Mark has also demonstrated the ability to lead large and complex investigations as evidenced by his successful coordination and direction of 24 archaeologists in the survey of a 325-mile pipeline project corridor running across three states from the international border in North Dakota to Superior, Wisconsin, as well as the processing and curation of several thousand artifacts identified and collected as part of the project.
