About Mark Dowdell
My career spans over 31 years beginning with a major Canadian insurer where I specialized in two critical areas: Business development and client management in the group retirement marketplace. Subsequently, at a leading Canadian investment counsel firm, I worked with financial advisors in acquiring and servicing the financial portfolios for high net worth individual client families. Since September 2002, I oversee all aspects of the Investment & Retirement consulting practice at Accompass, now the Toronto office of Gallagher Benefit Services (Canada) Group Inc. In addition, I provide consulting services – including investment manager search and selection – for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Deferred Profit Sharing and Group Registered Retirement Savings Plans. In the current climate of corporate governance, a large part of my role is assisting clients in understanding and addressing their CAP governance responsibilities. I participated as a Jury member for the Canadian Investment Awards Pooled Fund Category from 2005 - 2015 and volunteered for the CEBS examination panel.
