At Theis Precision Steel I set up and operated a continuous heat treating furnace line that hardened, polished and grinded metal strip. I utilized overhead cranes to load and unload machines. I maintained inventory levels of supplies, shipped finished product by forklift and used numerous precision measurement instruments to check the quality of the product (calipers, micrometers, flatness and surface finish gauges). I performed routine maintenance of all wipes, guides, ladders, buffs, and belts on the furnace. We would work in three man teams to assist other operators on their heat treating lines to insure there was a continues work flow. At New England Aircraft I followed standard practices and operating procedures to perform a variety of stripping and cleaning operations, utilizing surface treatment equipment such as manual grit blasters, water jet machines, dry baking ovens and rock tumblers. I set up and operated manual spray, painting and coating equipment for operations on a variety of turbine engine parts. I setup, operated, loaded, unloaded and monitored heat treat furnaces. I performed routine maintenance and servicing of spray booth units, guns, nozzles and filters. I followed specified procedures such as operators check list for upkeep to assure that all equipment operated properly. At Associated Plating I managed and was responsible for all aspects of production on the plating lines. I scheduled all work orders and insured on time delivery. I assigned jobs to all personnel to meet production needs. I priced work orders and quoted new orders. I was responsible for pollution control and maintaining that all state and federal regulations were met. I purchased supplies (chemicals, gloves, aprons, office supplies, safety glasses and shoes.). I insured all hazardous waste was disposed of properly.
