I am excited to share my passion for problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation with you. My name is Mark El-Debs, and as a computer engineer, I am dedicated to identifying needs and using my technical skills to create solutions that can make a real impact. Throughout my academic and professional experience, I have demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate effectively with others, build positive working relationships, and create a productive and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved. I firmly believe that open and clear communication is the key to success in any team, and I always strive to maintain a high level of transparency and mutual respect in my interactions with colleagues. In my capstone project, I developed a sophisticated motion sensing camera that could trigger automation in my Home assistant. To achieve this, I researched and implemented complex downsampling algorithms in C++ code, and I was able to significantly improve the performance of the camera by optimizing the use of grayscale mode and downsampling the resolution before applying the motion detection algorithm. With this approach, I was able to achieve an unprecedented 40 fps of motion detection using only image data, while keeping the hardware requirements minimal and affordable. I have also worked on a group project at school, where we successfully created a website to support underprivileged students. I played a key role in this project by leveraging my expertise in code management, CI-CD, Docker containers, and cloud services to streamline the development process and ensure the project was delivered on time and to a high standard. I was able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each group member and adapt our workflows and tools to facilitate their contributions and empower them to succeed. I am eager to share my my skills and experienced given the opportunity.
