About Mark Evans

An influential academic leader, I bring over 25 years of experience in higher education and extensive executive leadership experience driving innovation, transformation and growth. I leverage my deep knowledge of the international education sector, teaching and learning, research and industry to develop holistic, sustainable and scalable solutions that increase impact and commercial performance. I align all activities with university goals and values, ensuring an unwavering focus on exceptional student experience and high-quality academic outcomes. As Interim Dean of Design, Architecture and Building at UTS I currently oversee all the operations of a faculty shaping the vital creative professions of the future. I am passionate about our engagement with industry, and our ability to innovate our creative and professional disciplines for global change. Before this I managed operations for the Enterprise Learning unit which provided custom-designed, interdisciplinary short courses and micro-credentials for private and public sector clients. I worked closely with clients to understand their capability gaps and collaborate with Faculty and Centre leaders across the University to leverage their expertise to develop cross-disciplinary learning solutions. I have also held two Head of School roles, where I delivered transformation and innovation to uplift quality, governance and culture which improved performance across all teaching and learning, research and revenue benchmarks. I leverage my deep knowledge of the international education sector, teaching and learning, research, industry and partnerships to create opportunities, remove roadblocks and enable teams to excel. Complementing my academic leadership skills, I bring well-developed business, commercial and operational management skills which have supported my success to improve efficiency and deliver robust fiscal management.
