About Mark Flannery

Mark started his time with Honeywell also whilst at University during the summer vacation period. It was at Honeywell where Mark decided that applying technology to a customer’s problem space and creating real world solutions was very rewarding. Whilst at the Honeywell Software Centre in Sydney, Mark worked on a wide variety of specialized projects and products. From writing Fortran applications for the DPS6 mini, RACL HVAC control programs for Excel controllers, to implementing a historical database retrieval system for the Toyota car plant in Altona, Victoria. Mark has worked in both the industrial and commercial customer space with both a backend development role and then having to deploy the solutions at a customer’s facility and ensuring correct operation. Mark left his official development role behind with his role as the leader for the Honeywell Digital Video Manager surveillance product. This role grew to managing a distributed development team in Bangalore and Sydney and coordinating with other teams globally. The Honeywell DVM product developed into a highly available, distributed surveillance system. A career shift saw Mark travelling to Dubai to work on a large infrastructure project again with Honeywell. The T3/C2 Dubai Airport project was a very large infrastructure project which required many companies to work together to deliver a high technology solution. Mark was initially responsible for leading the Honeywell engineering team responsible for the CCTV package. Very quickly Mark assumed the Project Manager role and saw the project through to completion. Mark then moved into the Global Product Manager role for the Honeywell Building Solutions video portfolio. Firstly in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and now currently located in Sydney, Australia. After working with the video portfolio for a number of years, Mark then took on the broader Global Offering Manager role for the Integrated Operations portfolio which include DVM and also Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) and Command and Control Suite (CCS) still within Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS). Throughout his career, Mark has maintained his strong work ethic, focus on the customer, strong interest in technology innovation and his understanding of the customer value chain.
