I joined Henshalls in 1988 as the Accounts Manager. In I became the FD after taking part in an MBO, and was appointed MD in 2012. Henshalls Insurance Group served clients throughout Shropshire and border counties from Newport, Shrewsbury, and from Stafford as Bayliss & Cooke. The brokerage was founded by John Henshall in 1967. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2017 and in 2023 we became part of Brown & Brown to combine our local service with the strength of a company placing £30bn premiums worldwide. The main types of insurance covers we offer individuals and businesses include private home and motor, retail, manufacture and wholesale, transport and distribution, professional indemnity, construction and property owners. The business is based in beautiful old Georgian buildings on Newport's impressive high street. Gower House was purchased outright by the company's directors in 2006 to ensure the premises remained a well preserved landmark on Newport's main thoroughfare.
