About Mark Gately

I'm a member of a dying breed: trial lawyers, lawyers who really can and do go to court and talk to juries. the world is changing and it seems that there aren't many of us left. The fact that there is a job where you get paid to talk is proof that there is a God and that he or she has a great sense of humor, because the only skill that I really have is that I can talk, often times too much. But I've done okay before juries, probably because you don't have to scratch to deeply to figure out that I'm more a juror in reality than I am a lawyer. I have been fortune enough to have won just about every award or measure of recognition that a litigator can win. Similarly, I've been elected to membership in virtually, if not literally, every prestigious organization for trial lawyers. I am both grateful for this, humbled by it, and truth be told I've wondered more than once if I really deserve all these honors. I'll take them though.
